Ecstasy of Eid
A festival of love, bonding, share and togetherness; “Eid” is a widely celebrated festival in India and by Muslims around the world. It marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan which involves a hardcore fasting of 30 days. The month of Ramadan is a month of prayers and devotion towards Allah. Scientifically the fasting of Ramadan is proven to be beneficial for one as it is a process of detoxification and increase of metabolic activity in our body.
In Ramadan the prayers include world peace and happiness of one’s family. In this pandemic time having the faith in Allah the devout prays for the end of the adverse times being faced by humanity.
On Eid people meet each other and wish happiness for the rest of the year. The aroma of delicious delicacies travels in the air. Traditional food like seviyan is prepared and distributed amongst all. Children receive money from elders as a token of blessing. Though because of pandemic, one cannot meet their friends for the celebration of the auspicious occasion, but the love in our hearts and prayers in our souls levitate in the atmosphere spreading joy and a sense of hope and brotherhood amongst all.
