In the pursuit of raising compassionate, socially-responsible, and empathetic students, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School has launched a well-integrated Social Emotional Learning program (SEL) with its academic curriculum.

Through this innovative endeavor, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School promotes academic excellence as well as an inclusive attitude among its students so that the school teaching is in sync with the community requirements.

To encourage the wholesome growth of its students, the school has incorporated five major domains into its mainstream classroom teaching i.e. Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills and Responsible Decision Making.

To promote the ethical learning among students, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School has planned an array of activities like regular theme-based assemblies, screening of educational videos, discussion of modules, adopting practical ways to put these virtues to use for the well-being of others.

The most notable feature of this initiative is the deftness with which these social and emotional skills are integrated with all the subjects, thereby making them an indispensable part of the students’ learning.

The overwhelming response of the parents lauding the novel efforts of the school bears testimony to the positive changes in the behavioral pattern of the students in terms of their healthier social relationships, better problem-solving approach, and greater clarity of their personal strengths and abilities. The reflections and observations made by the enthused parents have helped the school to gauge and appreciate the personal behavior as well as the social interaction of the students with others.

Especially, in the turbulent times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School has integrated the virtue of ‘empathy’ with its regular curriculum so that the children can understand the crisis being faced by the underprivileged and do their bit to mitigate their sufferings.

Every SEL lesson such as saving water, respecting elders, empathizing with others, use of golden words like ‘thank you’ and ‘please’ etc imbues the students’ hearts with the sterling human virtues and thus strengthens their foundation as emotionally competent and socially sensitive future leaders who would readily serve and protect others before self.
