REPORT ON SKYPE SESSION

“Learning Never Stops”

Going with this quote , the students of SAJS, Vasundhara connected with various teachers and students across the world. They enthusiastically participated in various skype activities of Microsoft Global Connect between 10-11 November. The day was seen as a day grand day of collaboration with schools from India and outside India. The sessions were conducted with the places like Brazil, Tunisia and Xianggi for the global collaboration.

At Jaipuria, we provide our students with every germane acquaintance which helps, moulds and shapes them in a far-reaching way. They are the ones, getting exposed to all pitches and making themselves highly competitive and globalized. In today’s scenario where an individual has to be smart, knowledgeable, updated and reasonable, they get ample opportunities to excel in all the branches of education and knowledge. During the process of ISA, students were given a wide dimension to think globally. They are made to work in collaboration with other schools with varied cultural backgrounds of the students from the UK, France, USA, Ghana, Russia, Macedonia, Turkey, Pakistan, Netherlands, Egypt and Sri Lanka. Students from both the ends teamed up to work, thinking on the common platform and creating new universal dimensions. This year, the school has been re-accredited for the third time by the British Council International School Award (ISA) 2019-2021. The students shared many projects with countries abroad and pooled their work online. The school collaborated projects titled Delectable Delicacies, We Can Change the World, Rendezvous with Our Glorious Past, Festive Fiesta, Melodious Chimes, Figuring out with Mathematics and Deserts Biomes.

The school has also been lately associated with the United Nations and has become a UNGC member as well. We are now a UN school supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by involving pupils from all grades and levels to contribute their bit in various theme based projects and achieving the desired results. It aims to fulfill all the goals by teaming up with the United Nations as per the global timelines.

• The school will actively collaborate with French Embassy, Swiss Embassy to further the procession of international projects amongst students of all age groups.
• The school plans to have student exchange programs in the upcoming year with various countries from around the world.
• The school will also be collaborating with the schools located in Finland, Romania, Russia, Georgia etc.

WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP

GLOBAL ROUND – BEIJING, CHINA

THEME: “2019: A World on the Margins”

The World Scholar’s Cup, a prestigious International Academic Tournament is designed to provide students an opportunity to compete at an International platform and showcase their skills and ability to excel at debating, quizzing- that involves a quiz show and a multiple choice test of knowledge across six subjects- Literature, Science, Social Studies, Arts, Special Areas and History along with collaborative essay writing.

The World Scholar’s Cup looks like a competition, but isn’t one at all. It’s a celebration of learning. Its aim is to attract students interested in learning beyond typical school curricula and to focus on bringing students from different cultures together to discuss issues and ideas relevant to today. It deals with serious global issues while making learning brim with fun and enthusiasm.

Capturing the world of debating with aplomb Jaipurians made their mark in World Scholar’s Cup Global Rounds held at Beijing, China from 21st- 26th June, 2019 which was the biggest Global round with more than 2700 students. It was a great experience as Shelly Dwivedi, Aaagya Rai and Riddhi Alok Puranik participated as a team in the event along with Ms. Sumita Vij as the coordinator and mentor.

The team showcased their debating and literary skills with great dexterity. Shelly Dwivedi class XII won the 15th Best Debater out of 2700 students and exhibited an exceptional performance. She also received a Trophy in individual and team events held at Beijing, Convention Centre. Aagya Rai of class XII and Riddhi Puranik class XI also won laurels in debating and writing. Overall the girls bagged 8 Gold and 7 Silver Medals . The students were among the shining stars in the top 50 teams in Team Debate and got exemplary results with a position in the top 400 teams in collaborative writing. Students went through four rounds of Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar’s Challenge, Scholar’s Bowl and Scholar’s Show with area specific themes such as Special Area – Unsolved Mysteries; History – Neglected Histories; Social Studies – On the Edge of Society; Science – Enabling Technologies; Art & Music – Louder than Words & Literature – Voices from the Margins. The World Scholar’s Cup indeed was a step forward in the holistic development of the students. It provided an opportunity to these young jaipurians to build dreams, to chart a path to expand the horizons for creating a better tomorrow.

With a phenomenal performance and tireless hard work, the efforts of the team outshone the others and the girls qualified for the Tournament of Champions that is to be held in Yale University, USA in the month of November and made their mark at the International Level.

Students Scaling International Dimensions

Seth Anandram Jaipuria School congratulates Pratham Gupta of class IX for being selected as the part of the Indian Delegation for the coveted AIM-SIRIUS Deep Technology Learning and Innovation Program for high school students at Sirius centre – Sochi, Russia. We wish him all the very best for his future endeavors.

VIRTUAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME DAY 1, ITALY

Exchange programmes are organized for cultural as well as educational learning for the students across the globe. Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad got the opportunity to host a three day virtual exchange programme involving the delegation of 18 students and a teacher, Mr Andrea from San Fillipo International Primary School, Umbria, Italy from 03 June 2020 to 05 June 2020, respectively.

On Day 1, the key highlights were, welcoming guests, introductory videos of both the schools, self-introduction of the students from both Italy and India followed by a questionnaire round. This Indo-Italy Virtual Exchange Programme helped not only in uniting two school groups but also established friendship and fraternity between the two countries. This programme was an effective way to build bridges of understanding among students from different countries and gave them new knowledge and experiences. Mr Andrea in his speech expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the school for collaborating with them. He was extremely impressed with the standards of the school and its awards and achievements. The session was attended by the Principal cum Director of the school, Ms Manju Rana, who also interacted with Italian educators as well as the learners. She appreciated the students from both the schools for their confidence and language skills and congratulated the efforts of the teachers for conducting a well-organized session.

VIRTUAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME DAY 2

Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad hosted its Virtual Exchange_Programme- Day 2 with much more excitement. The students and teachers of Crabapple Lane Elementary School, Georgia, USA were equally excited to connect with their pen pals over this virtual collaboration. After opening the session, the students showcased what interesting they did or make during this quarantine time/ lockdown. They also showed what hobby they pursued or took up after being quarantined.

Students from both the countries shared their activities/hobbies very confidently and they all were appreciating each other. Today’s theme for interaction was meticulously thought over as we believe that hobbies teach children important life lessons, such as teamwork, confident social interactions, and enhanced self-esteem. The extra-curricular activities help a child develop mentally, physically and emotionally. And that is why we need to encourage our children to develop or pursue hobbies of their liking.

The students of Crabapple Lane Elementary School were in awe of the presentation given by the young Jaipurians. The event was much appreciated by their faculty members as well.

VIRTUAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME DAY 3, USA

It was a matter of pride for Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad as it culminated its three day Virtual Exchange Programme which had been collaborated with Crabapple Lane Elementary School, Georgia, USA. The third day began with lots of sharing as the students from both the schools showcased their favourite cuisines and dishes that they like to eat the most. A very comprehensive video was shown to the entire audience that contained a lot of pictures of the students performing various activities at home during the lockdown. In order to give a clearer picture to their Georgian friends, the children from Seth Anandram Jaipuria School even showed the ready to eat, mouthwatering recipes live on the screen! They then demonstrated their music and dance skills by performing live during the programme. All the pupils were amazed to see the dances and the instrumental music played on the piano. They got so engrossed in chatting about their favourite foods and their recipes. It was fantastic to witness such an interactive session like that! Each and every participant was fully involved among themselves. Everyone was super excited when the online quiz took place. They were actively answering to the questions put up by the teacher. The quiz had many interesting rounds which added an element of fun and learning at the same time.The students from both the schools mingled so well by the end of the three days that Ms Manju Rana, the Principal cum Director of the school expressed her love for all and also proposed some new initiatives which could be organized in the near future with Crabapple Lane Elementary School to take this programme to another level. She also appreciated all the presentations given by the students and praised the efforts of the teachers who were behind the smooth execution of the event. She especially acknowledged the hard work of Ms Heena Sharma (ISA Coordinator), and her team members, Ms Deepti Mayal, Ms Latika Singh, and Ms Kavita Singh respectively. The day got ended with lots of sweet memories, meaningful learning and wonderful experiences.
